Paul Cardoen, the Bank’s CEO, is leading cross-cultural teams through major strategic and organisational change which will deliver significant growth for the Bank.
Paul’s key skills are his practical, hands-on approach in culturally diverse environments gained through extensive management experience across sub-Saharan Africa. He is also known for his promotion of ethical business conduct and organisational sustainability.
His banking experience includes developing businesses at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, BNP Paribas, the Trust Bank (Ghana) and Fortis Bank where he successfully transformed their banking, asset management, finance and wealth management businesses.
He has also served as a non-executive director with various companies in the UK, Turkey and Ghana advising on strategic direction and guiding business transformation
Paul completed his post-graduate studies at IMD (Switzerland), INSEAD (France) and holds master’s degrees from Belgium’s leading universities in Leuven and Brussels.
